Favre knows how to relax...so much more to add to this photo but..
So this game isn’t going to unfold like everyone expects…all the analysts are crazy over how good the Cowboys are, but I bet the Vikings will show up this week for these reasons…
- They are 8-0 at home
- Favre has had two weeks of rest (he is 40 and has never missed a game for 18 years, time off benefits him more than any player)
- The Vikings are the 2 seed and by all accounts, they are the underdog
- Adrian Peterson is so due
The Cowboys are a talented team and they finally got the monkey off their backs but I can’t see them winning Sunday.
Key Matchup
Cowboys OLBs Spencer and D. Ware versus Vikings OTs McKinnie and Loadholt – I see Favre neutralizing this matchup by doing screens to Taylor and AP while mixing up little dump offs to Shiancoe and P Harvin. And then at some point this will slow them down thus opening up the deep pass to Berrian and/or Sydney Rice.
Prediction – Vikings 34-17
This is the perfect setup game for Viking fans, big win and then big diss next week. Favre has been good in the divisional playoff games at home, and poopy in other games. But what do I know, I was 0 for 4 last week.
Other picks: Cardinals 38 Saints 24, Colts 23 Ravens 17, Chargers 27 Jets 6.

Go waaaaay back to 1996, when guess who won the Super Bowl? The Green Bay Packers. Ya this doesn’t mean shit, but someone had to mention it. With the Cowboys victory, I’m just glad that the Packers won’t be distracted by any rematch with the Vikings next week. I think Dallas really has a good shot, they can pressure the QB and have a hot QB.
Hi I'm Wade, looks like we are seated at the same table!?
So both rematches from last week ended up the same today with the Jets winning 24-14 and the Cowboys beatdown of the Eagles, 34-14. Can Green Bay keep it rolling? On a sidenote, as long as the Eagles have Michael Vick, karma won’t be on their side.
Oh and yes I realize Favre’s only Super Bowl win also coincides with the last Cowboy playoff win…

Rodgers relishes his biggest win
Packers 17 Cowboys 7
So the Packer’s D finally woke up this week! They came with some pressure and actually got to Romo? And the only change was Kampman being out…which probably doesn’t bode well for his future with the Pack. He just isn’t made to be a stand up pass rusher. What sucks is now they won’t get squat for him in trade value. I’d like to see him as the DE on passing downs. They have to figure out a better way to utilize his skills for the rest of the season.
The D looked active and tenacious on Sunday. This is what most packer fans expected to see. It was very strange how quickly the Cowboys abandoned the running game however. Having zero balance to their O made it possible for the Packers to unleash the hounds so to speak.
Vikings 28 Lions 10
This game should have been much worse. The Vikings are starting to look like a scary team to me. Just solid on all counts. Defense, offense, special teams…Really the only thing holding them from attaining first round bye will be themselves. Any major injury to Pat/Kevin Williams, AP, Favre would end their season in my mind.
49ers 10 Bears 6 (Thursday night)
The Bears fall to their former star middle linebacker, Mike Singletary. Cutler with 5 picks. Enough said.
Besides Rodgers, this might be TT's best first round pick
Week 10 Winners
- Charles Woodson – 9 tackles, INT, Sack and two forced fumbles. What a huge game by a future HOF’er.
- Packer’s coaches – Dom Capers, Mike McCarthy actually had a good game plan.
- Aaron Rodgers – Solid game
- Clay Matthews III – This guy is a future pro bowler, perfect fit for the Packers 3-4.
- Barnett / Hawk – Looked solid. AJ has played pretty good for four weeks straight now. And Barnett looks to be back.
Week 10 Losers
- Jay Cutler – 5 picks…and I loved how Deion Sanders was killing him about not seeming to have a care after throwing a pick.
- Tramon Williams – Anybody who gets the ball stripped by a punter deserves to be here no matter what.
Belichick’s 4th down call
This has been talked (and here) about enough, but this is reminiscent to the 1995 Cowboys/Eagles game when Barry Switzer was heavily criticized for failing a 4th and short on their own 29. That team ended up winning the Super Bowl. I did thoroughly enjoy this episode of the Colts/Pats game also. It never lives down to the hype!

Vikes – Lions: The game to see if Favre really cares about this season other than beating the Packers. Lions are pretty much done for the season. Vikings 34 Lions 12.
Packers – Cowboys: Packers need to allow under 3 sacks, win the turnover margin, and pickup a TD by special teams to win. Seems to me that the Packers might be better off going with more 4-3 defense. I’d like to see a d-line featuring Kampman, Jenkins, Pickett, and Raji. You could swap in/out Raji/Jolly depending on the down. Anyways, Cowboys 31 Packers 27.
(Bears already lost on Thursday)
